Space Shuttle Atlantis®
Enjoy a nostalgic look at the actual space shuttle Atlantis and delve into this key NASA orbiter’s 30-year legacy, which includes a crucial role in assembling the International Space Station. The building features over 60 interactive and high-tech exhibits, including a full-scale mockup of the Hubble Space Telescope and a shuttle “re-entry” slide. Its “Forever Remembered” exhibit honors the legacies of the fallen astronauts from both Challenger and Columbia.

Embark on a guided motor coach tour of the space center: the birthplace of American spaceflight and the launchpad of American Moon landings and space shuttle launches. The Gantry at LC‑39
As the visitor complex’s newest attraction, this interactive Gantry at LC‑39 experience offers 360-degree views of active launch pads from its four-story observation tower. Simulated, full-scale engine test-fires also occur every 30 or so minutes. Try your hand at building and virtually launching rockets, catching expansive views of neighboring active launch pads, or learning how the planet is changing inside NASA's Earth Information Center.

The Rocket Garden
Enjoy an expert-guided tour of rockets used in the early days of NASA's Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo Programs, and walk among literal giants. The Rocket Garden represents the foundation of American space exploration, with rockets such as the Mercury-Redstone, which in 1961 launched the first American astronaut into space; and the Saturn 1B, the last surviving flight-ready vehicle of its kind anywhere on Earth.
